Prepared in the right order
The finish is protected with padded blankets. Stretch wrap goes over the blankets, never directly against the finish. The legs and pedal lyre are removed at the appropriate stage, and the piano is secured to a padded skid board for transport on a low dolly.
Leave the legs and lyre attached before the team arrives. Tell us about a loose leg, a delicate finish or a recent repair so these details are part of the plan.
Discuss the final position and reassembly at delivery when confirming the move. Include any unusual hardware or existing issues in your note.
Access is more than a doorway width
A piano may fit through a doorway but still need room to turn on the other side. Photos of the entire path help us review the instrument’s route at both locations.
- Show the piano in its current room, with space around the legs.
- Photograph narrow doors, hallway corners and stair landings.
- Count every step at pickup and delivery separately.
- For an elevator, provide the door opening and usable cab dimensions.
- Tell us about reserved loading times, gates or a long carry.
For a larger grand or access you are unsure about, send the dimensions and photos before assuming an ordinary move will fit.
