A move near Simi Valley or Thousand Oaks has a different route from a move toward Ventura or Oxnard. Use the full pickup and delivery addresses so the quote reflects the actual trip, including a route to or from Los Angeles.

Include access beyond the front door: a steep driveway, an outside staircase, a gate or a long path to the home. Photos help show changes in level and turns that an address alone cannot explain.

Availability depends on the route and crew schedule. Check the calendar for the selected addresses; a service-area page does not reserve a date or promise a same-day move.

Count the steps at each end separately. Under the local rules, the first 3 steps at pickup and first 3 at delivery are included, then each extra step adds $5. Photograph landings and turns as well as the steps themselves.

For a move within the same house or property, choose that option in the quote form and describe the full route between the two positions. The published same-property adjustment is $50 less, with a $225 minimum.

A piano moving upstairs still needs access review even when no truck journey is involved. Include the piano type and pictures of the staircase before final arrangements are made.

• Confirm who will provide access at pickup and at delivery.
• Clear the space around the piano and along the walking route.
• Note gates, parking restrictions and building moving hours.
• Photograph narrow doors, slopes and any staircase.
• For a grand, leave legs and the pedal lyre attached for the crew.
